Unilin Malaysia provides a great industrial internship opportunity to develop students’ professional and practical skills, encouraging them to apply skills and knowledge acquired through study in a real-life environment.

 

Students will be assigned with a short and structured project and undertake work experience under the coaching of our experienced staff. Depending on the university’s requirement, the internship placements can range up from two months to six months.

 

As the spots for industrial internship can be very limited, we encourage you to apply within 2 months before your internship commencement.

Production Manager

Unilin (Malaysia) is looking for a Production Manager with strong people managing skills who will be reporting to the Plant Manager of Unilin (Malaysia). You lead and manage a team of both direct and indirect reports. You provide freedom and appreciate your reports who take ownership and drive results through own creativity and innovation. You stimulate the safety and housekeeping awareness of your reports through your own passion for a Zero Harm Safety Culture.
Besides people managing, you structure, guide and encourage your organization to continuously improve quality, support capacity growth and site expansion. You transcend the purely operational day to day activities and define a clear strategy you can implement on the shop floor. With this strategy you are keen on leading changes, sponsoring action plans and initiating CAPEX. When determining the most cost effective and efficient methods to obtain a goal, you keep an eye on the analysis and review of budgets, schedules, production requirements and headcount.
You guarantee an up to date department’s procedure and working instruction, in compliance with the ISO 9001 requirement. You work closely together with several internal stakeholders such as production and supporting departments. You are able to create a balance between the production workload and planning by securing an adequate shop floor resource planning.

Data & Analytics Specialist

JOB OBJECTIVE / SUMMARY

The Data & Analytics Specialist will drive the transformation of our parquet manufacturing plant into a data-driven operation by developing high-quality datasets, creating insightful dashboards, and improving data quality to support strategic and operational decisions. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the role focuses on enabling live reporting, fostering a culture of self-service BI, and ensuring data is accurate, accessible, and actionable. By standardizing processes and promoting data-driven practices, you will play a key role in enhancing production efficiency and business growth.

 

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Enable Data-Driven Decisions: Develop structured datasets and insightful dashboards to support both daily and long-term strategic decisions.

Improve Data Quality: Standardize processes and maintain high data accuracy to ensure reliable reporting and analysis by ensuring all data input is accurate.

Support Operational Efficiency: Use live reporting (real-time reports) and analytics tools to identify actionable insights that improve production processes to prevent delaying in actions to be taken to avoid inefficiency or losses.

Promote Self-Service BI: Build datasets that empower stakeholders to create their own reports, reducing reliance on the D&A team.

Foster Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to align data needs and solutions with business goals.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent; through at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
  • Proficient in both Bahasa Malaysia and English language.

Mechanical Engineering Manager

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled professional with a passion for mechanical engineering and a proven ability to lead technical teams in a manufacturing environment. This dual-role position combines hands-on mechanical expertise with managerial responsibilities to drive operational excellence and foster the next generation of engineering talent.

 

Safety Leadership:

  • Ensure that technical team, mechanical systems and operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, prioritizing the people's safety and the environment.
  • Establish and enforce safety standards within scope of control.
  • Take personal interest and lead workplace safety training programs, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
  • Perform regular risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to prevent accidents and ensure operational safety (HIRARC)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with all local and corporate safety programs.

 

Mechanical Expertise:

  • Diagnose and optimize the performance of complex manufacturing equipment, ensuring machines operate at their peak efficiency.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors to design and implement innovative technological solutions tailored to manufacturing needs.
  • Provide technical training and mentorship to junior engineers, imparting deep insights into equipment functionality and troubleshooting best practices.
  • Leverage expertise in technologies such as surface sanding, multi-layer pressing, precision cutting, and material handling systems to improve equipment reliability.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance machinery performance and reliability.

 

Maintenance Management:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies such as TPM to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Lead and oversee maintenance teams, coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities across the facility.
  • Manage the maintenance of technologies including automated pressing machines, surface sanding systems, and precision preparation equipment.
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and procurement strategies to optimize costs while maintaining operational excellence.

 

Leadership and Growth:

  • Demonstrate first-hand management experience, including team development, performance evaluation, and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in mechanical engineering, with expertise in analysing and optimizing industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing technologies such as automation systems, precision mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
  • Experience with equipment technologies including but not limited to sanding, pressing, and precision cutting systems.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role, leading technical or maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to equipment troubleshooting and optimization.
